Gears of War is a third person shooter that is no holds barred - blood, guts & glory. I was highly anticipating this title for about a year since the 360 came out. The campaign is one of the best told stories I have played ever through. It features 2 player online co-op, this makes playing through the game so much more fun. The weapons are great. The game play is great. The art direction is outstanding. I played through the campaign 3 times. Once on normal, once on Hardcore, and once on Insane. One aspect I was looking forward to was the online multi-player. At first I really enjoyed the mutiplayer, then a few things ticked me off. You are unable to play ranked death matches with a party of friends. It randomly sets you up with other online players.
I really wish they used the old Halo 2 matchmaking set up. All together this had been the best game on 360 so far (I haven't had a chance to play BioShock yet). Gears of War continues to be the most played 360 game online week after week and was the first Xbox game to dethrown Halo 2 from the #1 spot on Xbox Live. Lets see what happens when Halo 3 comes out in a couple weeks.
